This mod retextures all the roads in GTA3 with a much more detailed and better-looking San Andreas texture. You may think 'that's easy', but not with GTA3. Despite the fact
that they resemble San Andreas roads, most of the road textures I had to create myself.

The old roads in GTA3 used an 8bit, 64x64 texture. The new roads are compressed 512x512 textures which really breathe some life back into Liberty City, especially when the
old roads were all grey and had no variation.

This mod also makes the roads far more varied. Some roads will be clean. Some may be a bit cracked. Some will be bloody rough!

The mod also retextures the sewer covers to compressed 1024x1024 textures. Sounds big, but the compression means great performance, small file size, and detail you'd need
a sniper rifle to see...

It not only retextures roads, it also retextures car parks and Francis International Airport paths and roads, as well as the runway. It also updates the 8bit generic map
textures to versions lifted from the XBOX version of GTA3.

1. Go to your GTA3/Models folder and replace 'generic.txd' with the one from my mod.
2. Open TXD.IMG (with IMG Tool or similar) and delete all the associated TXDs as listed under *TXD.IMG. Be sure to back them up first.
3. Add all the TXDs in the TXD.IMG folder of this mod.
4. Fire 'er up!

Note that there may be a few glitches with the appearance of the roads, e.g. white lines suddenly coming to a stop, seams showing on textures, etc. This isn't my fault,
rather it's a problem that GTA3 had from the start. Because the roads were so bland and low-res, these problems were hidden. I may try to fix that in the future (by using 
dashed lines on the roads as with the original III), but apart from that, there's no problem and you'll probably be amazed at the detail of the roads and the life it brings
back to Liberty City. Enjoy.
